We offer this rug in New Zealand Wool (NZW), with your choice of Hand Knotted (HK) or Hand Tufted (HT) Rug Type each in 3 different Pile Height (PH) and/or Pile Density (PD) - (please check the appropriate box as these attributes will adjust the price in the shopping cart).

Hand-Knotted:
As the name suggests, a Hand-Knotted rug gets made of hundreds of thousands of tiny knots. Exceptionally skilled weavers weave each knot painstakingly by hand. Hand Knotting is a highly specialized and labor-intensive skill, and these rugs take about six weeks to weave for an average size of 8ft x 10ft, for example, with two weavers working side by side. Just to give an idea, a size 8x10 rug in 60 knots quality will be hand-made of approximately 700,000 knots. Genuinely fascinating, isn't it?

Hand-Tufted:
A rug of this quality is made pretty much like embroidery, where the weaver stretches a cloth across a metallic frame. The design is printed onto the cloth by hand, and then the tufts / Pile is inserted into the stretched cloth with a handheld gun. This weaving process is much faster, and a size 8ft x10 ft rug, for example, can be woven in a couple of weeks by a single weaver.

Please 1st choose your rug color, 2nd your rug shape, 3rd your rug size, and 4th your rug pile type with height or density:

This is the fourth and last choice to make and the most critical one, therefore, please choose exactly the type of PILE you truly want.

Check Off either HT Hand Tufted PH Pile Height or HK Hand Knotted PD Pile Density;

and then Check Off the actual PILE Dimension - there are 3 choices for each of the above - Standard, Premium and Luxury.

Please note that once ordered and in fabrication, it will be difficult to switch your order from a hand tufted rug type to a hand knotted rug type and their 3 height and/or density choices since these are hand made with different techniques, processes and equipment and the PILES are also of different textures.

Plus be mindful that the pure natural wool material was sheared off from a New Zealand Sheep, shipped to India to further be washed, spun, made into yarn and dyed in many different colors. So much sustainable and centuries of crafty talented traditions, work and preparation to create the pure and natural materials prior to weaving and fabricating a creative masterpiece, an heirloom for your home.

Removing Spills & Stains

Address spills immediately. The longer a stain sits on carpeting, the harder it is to get out. Remove the spill much as possible by scooping or blotting, and then add a small amount of water and blot with a towel. Only use a stain remover if necessary, and use one that's approved for use with your type of carpeting.

Always avoid scrubbing the fibers. If you scrub too hard or too often, that may break the fibers and dull the colors in that area.

Stain Removal

Spills and stains don’t have to be a problem. Always act quickly and follow these guidelines for effective and correct stain removal:

Grease Stains:

Use a product specifically designed to treat grease stains. Warm water alone won’t remove the grease. Never apply these types of products directly to the carpet fiber or yarn. It could be a good idea to test the product on a small area of the tufted carpet first to see if it causes any decolorization.

Use a piece of cotton wool and apply to the edges of the stain, working inwards.

Blot with absorbent tissue or paper towel. The carpet may darken during this process, but this should disappear afterward.

Dampen the area with a diluted soap solution to remove any cleaning product residue. Blot again with tissue or paper towel.

Dry the area with a hair-dryer, moving continuously over the stain, to avoid watermarking.

Repeat this process if the stain is not entirely gone.

Water-Based Stains:

Soak up the spill immediately with absorbent tissue or paper towel.

Re-wet the stained area with lukewarm water on a sponge or piece of cotton wool to dilute the spilled liquid. Blot again with tissue or paper towel.

Dry the area with a hair-dryer, moving continuously over the stain, to avoid watermarking.

Repeat this process if the stain is not entirely removed

Dried-In (Water-Based) Stains:

Scrape off excess spill with a spoon from the edges of the stain to the center.

Apply a diluted soap solution to a piece of cotton wool and dampen the stained area.

Blot with tissue or paper towel.

Dry the area with a hair-dryer, moving continuously over the stain, to avoid watermarking.

Repeat this process if the stain is not entirely removed.

A small word of advice: Please bear in mind that everyone's computer screens and pixels are different and that you will experience slight variations in color from the items scanned in this e-catalogue. Rest assured that these products are as true to life as you may be seeing them and that all of our products are authentic and unique crafts of the most traditional and cultures from around the world. Each piece is made directly by the artists' crafty hands. No two pieces will ever be exactly the same since they are all handmade, which enhances the value of the product and creates some degree of exclusivity. Some art pieces will most likely be exclusive pieces and may not be reproduced by the artist for "Magali" or for anyone else. Historical folklore is our mission.

Back-orders or custom-orders

For any back-orders or custom-made orders, please allow at least 4 to 16 weeks for the crafting & production, (as all products are handcrafted and individually made by the artisans and artists in worldwide), as well as, for transoceanic shipments and any U.S. Customs Duty Clearance and Inspection red tape. Some products may require slightly more time to be crafted or processed and this will be indicated in the product's description. You will be notified of your order workflow and shipping tracking.

Regretfully, NO - Cancellations, Exchanges, Returns, Refunds, and/or Store Credits Policy

Since all our products are bespoke = custom made to order - for your unique decorating and gifting needs, as well as, handcrafted and authentic pieces, no cancellations will be accepted once your order has started fabrication since the artisans have already purchased the materials for your exclusive order, there will be no exchanges, no returns, no refunds and no store credits accepted either.

Please call-in or email us if you are not sure about a product or to request some advice before ordering, rather than ordering and later returning. Measure all your spaces accurately where your special piece is to go, (length, width, depth, height, arches to pass from room to room, staircases, their turns and angles, ceiling light fixtures and fans in the way, any possible transportation in your residence or place of business).

Compare your colors as perfectly as possible with our products and color charts online.

Remember, these products are not pulled off a warehouse shelf, they are pieces of art that are being made only for you. You will then also have to pay for shipping and handling twice since our artisans will not provide payment to cover those charges and you may even need to pay customs fees (in reverse) to the country of origin in returning the products abroad.

Many of our artisans do not sell locally in their countries/their villages in shops to the public, therefore, they will not be able take back the piece. Please understand that they only design, create, fabricate… their passions and labors of love !

Damages

If you should receive a damaged product, please contact us, as soon as possible, in order to solve the issue and/or file a claim with the shipping/courier service. (A few photos will be required by the shipping/courier company to comply with their damage reimbursement claim). Even in the case of damages, your piece will most likely not be shipped back to its country of origin.

The artisan will provide directives as to the final resolution.
