Hand Fabricating Process:
Fabiola collects bottles on a weekly basis from local restaurant owners; soaks them in 3 different disinfectants; peels the labels; takes off all glues and label residues with acetone; soaks them again in dishwashing liquid; let's them dry; brings them to the KILN to melt flat or into bowls with or without shaped designer molds; picks them back up from the KILN; decorates them and does 4 photo shoots per tray and bowl - alone against a wall or on a table, with the bamboo utensils, on the organza pouch and in the organza pouch and later on uses those photos in special photography apps to create a publicity portfolio for social media or hand outs or for resellers and/or boutiques/shops. From restaurants to your table.
Glass colors:
Since bottles are randomly donated by restaurant owners of various ethnic foods and fares, glass colors vary from: clear, clear/green tone, clear/blue tone, light green, dark green, brown, dark brown and very very seldom emerald green and cobalt blue. We, therefore, can try to provide you with choices of the basic glass colors of these trays and bowls, however, we can not guarantee that these colors will be available in stock and may have to be randomly assigned as supplies are available. You can make your choice of glass colors from the drop down box.
Bottle Brands:
Wine, Water, Liquor Bottle Brands are definitely not within our control to stock your favorite ones since bottles are randomly donated by restaurant owners of various ethnic foods and fares and as such, for example, a French restaurant may provide water and wine and Champagne bottles, whereas a Mexican restaurant will provide tequila bottles, etc..., therefore, we can not provide you with choices of the the brands these trays and bowls were made from. They will be randomly assigned as supplies are available.
Decoration:
is done randomly depending on how the bottles melted and created space to glue pieces such as: Indian beads, sand glass, mosaic tiles, half marbles and stones. Some trays and bowls are left without these additional decorations. Choices vary too much to order specific custom orders and it is also difficult to always find the same supplies of decorative pieces. You may choose from the drop down box: Decorated or Non-decorated.
Designer molds are also used as a decorative pattern on the back of the bottles and imprint into the back of the glass as it melts in/on the designer molds in the kiln.
- There are no designer molds for the small size beer bottles.
- Designer molds for large and extra large flat trays are of: Ocean species scenery, Koi Fish, Dragonflies, Tree of Life 1 and Sailboat with Lighthouse.
- Designer molds for large and extra large bowls are of: the Tree of Life 2, Welcome with a Pineapple, Swirls and Dragonflies.
- New designer molds may be purchased and used and will be added to the lists, here within.
